Jerusalem Music Centre

The JMC was established in 1973, at the initiative of the great violinist and educator Isaac Stern and Jerusalem’s mythological mayor, Teddy Kollek. At the opening ceremony of the building, in 1976, Stern said “It was my hope that a centre could be created, that would have no predetermined structure, that would be an open invitation to all, and through itself, and through its activity, create its own power, its own drive, its own dynamics”.
