Concert from the George Enescu International Festival. Philippe Jaroussky, countertenor, Celine Scheen, soprano, and L'Arpeggiata conducted by Christina Pluhar perform:

Improvisations on themes of Händel.

HÄNDEL: Sinfonia from 'Solomon'/ Aria 'Pena tirana' from 'Amadigi di Gaula',  Jupiter's Aria 'Where'er you walk' from 'Semele'.

VIVALDI: Concerto in G minor for strings and b.c. RV 157.

HÄNDEL: Aria 'Tu del ciel ministro eletto' from ' Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno'/ Ruggiero's Aria 'Verdi prati' from 'Alcina'/ Duet Rodelinda-Bertarido 'Io t'abbraccio' from 'Rodelinda'/ Sinfonia from act III from 'Alcina'/ Semele's Aria 'O sleep, why thost thou leave me' from 'Semele'/ Rinaldo's Aria 'Cara sposa' from 'Rinaldo'/ Duet Clotilde-Adolfo 'Caro/cara, tu mi accendi nel mio core' from 'Faramondo'.
