Sterkel`s 'Il Farnace' with Kristóf, Rinvet and Würmeling from Aschaffenburg

Sterkel`s 'Il Farnace' is an opera in three acts. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his death, the opera was performed in Aschaffenburg probably for the first time since its premiere in 1782. 'Farnace' is the name of the King of Pontus. The plot takes place in the Asian colonies of the Roman Empire, where Farnace first kills the son of his opponent Atridates, then marries his daughter and is now getting Atridates' revenge.
